We Help Senior Dogs…

Who Have Arthritis

Just like us, dogs develop arthritis as they age which can cause pain, joint stiffness, and difficulty getting up and moving around.

Who May Have Developed a CCL Tear or Had CCL Surgery

Known as the ACL in humans, dogs can tear this ligament in their knee as well causing weakness, limping, and affecting their overall mobility

Who Have General Weakness and Balance Issues

Weakness and poor balance can impact how our fur babies move around in their environment and can limit their favorite activities.

Whose Pet Parents Have Been Told Their Dog is Getting Older and To "Just Accept This is How Things Are Going to Be"

Just as in people, "Getting Older" is not a diagnosis and it is essential to keep your fur baby active and strong to live a long, healthy life.

Who Have Hip Dysplasia

Although more common in large breed dogs, it can affect dogs of any size. There are multiple treatment options available, but ultimately keeping your dog strong and at a healthy weight are key in helping to manage this condition.

Who Suffer From Back Issues

Dogs can suffer from multiple back issues including IVDD, arthritis, subluxations, fractures, to name a few. Having a strong core along with strong front and hind limb muscles can help alleviate the amount of stress placed on the spine.

Sommer Hall, MPT, CCRT

Owner, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist

Born and raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Sommer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999 and Master of Physical Therapy degree from St. Ambrose University in 2003.

Sommer has practiced in different outpatient orthopedic settings throughout her career. In April 2012, she and her husband made the big move to Jacksonville, FL and got a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, Minzi. Little did Sommer know at the time that in a few short years Minzi would become her inspiration in pursuing a career canine rehabilitation!

It was in 2017 that Sommer realized she desired something different in her career. She started researching canine rehab more and knew this is what she wanted to pursue as it combined her passion of her love for dogs and experience in human physical therapy. She knew there were plenty of other pet parents out there who loved their dog as much as she did and considered them part of the family. Sommer wanted to be the one to help them if they needed therapy.

In 2018, she completed her certification in canine rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She also started to realize there are many reasons why pet owners may not be able to get their dog to a clinic for rehab. It was in 2019, she opened Movin’ Tails so she could provide canine rehab from the convenience of people’s homes.

Getting your fur baby stronger and back to the activities you enjoy doing together is our ultimate goal at Movin’ Tails. We are just a click or phone call away!
